We do not want to just sell seed; it is our goal to have a personal relationship with our customers. It is a fact that service after the sale is what builds a mutually profitable relationship. While we are selling rice seed, RiceTec Hybrids are different from the rest. Our field staff works with customers, consultants, University professionals, and others in the rice industry to answer questions about RiceTec Hybrid rice seed. Experience with hybrids and varieties gives our Technical Service group the background to be able to answer questions and make recommendations to maximize the performance of RiceTec hybrids on your farm. Our Technical Services department conducts large scale research trials throughout the rice growing areas of the Gulf Coast and MidSouth. From those trials we are able to build our yield forecasting models, which let you see what you could expect hybrid performance to look like on your farm.

When it comes to planting hybrids, most know that our recommendations are for much less seed per acre to be planted. Our target planting rate is ~14 seed per square foot (600K seed/acre). This is roughly 30 pounds of seed per acre, or less than half of what conventional rice varieties are planted at. Use our drill calibration chart for help adjusting your drill to better ensure proper seeding recommendations.

We have 8 technical service representatives spread across the Gulf Coast and Midsouth with extensive backgrounds in rice production and Agronomy.
